Events – Candids

Candid photography at events has evolved in the last 10 years.  The things that have stayed the same are what people want covered.  They need to record the event, to capture important speakers, people learning, and people connecting.  It's for institutional history and a record that helps answer questions about how things were done in previous years.

This is all still true, but now the candid capture serves as a content library for marketing and social media feeds.  A photo of last year's conference can drive awareness of the brand, amplify the on-site event experience, and engage those who might want to connect with the brand. 

Candid photography is a unique skill.  Stylistically, we see ourselves as documentary photographers.  We want to capture the event as it is happening and are always looking for the best shot.  Of course, there are also moments where we ask people to stand together or face the camera as a group.

Preparation is key – we request an agenda and any direction that will help us understand how an event will unfold.  Pre-event, we talk with the team to review the day's requested list of ‘must-have' shots, details, and, when possible, an on-site contact that can act as our guide should we have trouble finding an important shot.

We also know how to be nimble.  If a client wants us to redirect and focus on an off-script moment, that is what we do. Events are full of scheduled and unexpected moments.  We aim to be there and ready for all of it.

FAQ for Corporate Event Photography Services

  • 10X10 is good.  12X12 is better.  If you have a smaller footprint let us know.  We once did this at Sephora in Times Square and we made it work in under 6x4 feet (!!!).

  • We recommend using our scheduling tool for sign-ups.  It makes for a far better experience for attendees.  People can pick a time that works for them, scheduling around any important work or presentations they can't miss.  No stress over a long line and the negative feelings that come along with waiting.

  • Attendees receive an email with a link to their image gallery as soon as they are finished with their session.

  • Our software is customizable.  There are several areas where we can add your text and logo.

  • Most clients are very happy with how we capture their images, but we do offer retouching as a service add-on.

  • We are based in New York but serve clients nationally.  We once went to Mexico City and that was awesome!!!
